No compression

I recently bought a M farmall. Turns over but has no compression. Put a little PB Blaster and 10 W30 down the spark plug holes to see if the rings might be stuck. On the compression gauge, none of the cylinders have any compression that is measureable though you can feel compression and a little vacuum. Any ideas, am I missing anything?

Check to make sure valves are not stuck. Pull the valve cover and rocker arm assembly easy job. Rap them with a hammer, should have a nice 'spring back to them if you get a valve that does not come back up or does not spring then you need to lube them up well and keep tapping.

another possibility is timing gears out check by pulling dist. cap if rotor doesn't turn gears are gone, another check is if valves move when cover is off.

I am with Andrew on this. There are probably 4 or 5 pushrods off and laying to one side. Lubing the valves through the springs with PB Blaster, waiting a day, then rapping the valve keeper with a plastic mallet gently until they begin to work loose can in some cases fix the issue. Jim

I assume you have the throttle wide open and are using the starter and not the crank? I would call 0 unusual.

Pull the valve cover and see if the push rods are moving. Remove the cap from the distributor or mag and see if the rotor rotates during the engine cranking. Something may have happened to either your camshaft or timing gear if there's no movement. Hal.

Well first off PB and motor oil is not very good for freeing up sticking rings. Fill the cylinders with ATF and let it sit a week. In the mean time pull the valve cover off and check that it doesn't have stuck valves. Also pouring some ATF down the muffler pipe will help free things up

also check for bent push rods ,if the valves where stuck fron sitting you can bend turning over ,I tell every one starting old sitting engine to pull cover and crank buy hand and check pushrods

All the other info in this post is good, try it. Maybe someone else can explain this. I also am working with a non running M. I hooked up my pressure guage and let it dangle and tried a couple of cylinders and got zero and my heart sank, so on the next one I held the guage upright and got 100 psi. I redid the earlier ones holding the guage upright and got the same 100. I have a cheap guage and maybe was not using it correctly at first or later. Looking forward to hearing from you and others on the subject.
