Which engine has the two oil filters, the 312 or the 310? Is one engine more bullet proof than the other?.....Ron

Ron, The neighbor whom I helped every summer has a 686 with the German diesel. Last I remember it had about 9,000 hours trouble free, except for the starter. The tractor was used and abused but no engine issues. I liked the tractor.

312 had 2 oil filters. Both good engines, German VA Bosch pump is getting hard to find parts for.

The 310 in my 706 and the 358(826) each have only one filter.The 310 is bullet proof.I havent yet put enough hours on the 358 german to know yet.
