Tire Cutting

Is it possible to cut extra grooves into the large lugs on rear tractor tires I think there 13.5 x 38 It should improve traction ? What does everyone think ??

Maybe they'd help on ice, but they wouldn't be much help in field conditions.

All they will do in the field is cause the tire to wear out faster. Tractor tires are expensive as hell to replace. Makes no sense to do anything that would cause them to wear even quicker.

Not so as you could measure it. As noted, on wet concrete it might, but then why?
Put ballast (Beet Juice (Rim Guard)) in the tires, or iron weights to add traction. If pulling, the best practices are to follow the lead of the other pullers. Mangling a set of expensive tires is costly. Jim

Following the leaders isn't always the way to become one. Taking thier thinking to the next level on the other hand...I would expect a college prof to think outside the box.

Starting points are often found by looking at the existing best practices. I believe the recutting of a "bar" will be undectable.
Jim.
