I have tried searching this site for stuff I know is on here, but no luck. Please provide search suggestions, thanks.

To me the only success I have is with words in the content of the topic, and or words in the title of the post. I would wish the author was an allowed field, as many times the author is the important locator. Jim

(quoted from post at 03:59:36 02/23/12) It use to be that you could search by author. I wish it was still that way!!

You still can. It is in the second search box.

Search for Author:
Use * as a wildcard for partial matches

Searching Google works pretty well, too. Then you can click on "View More Discussion Results" or "View More from Yesterday's Tractor." Then you are good to go.

The search is antique just like the junky old format forum. You have to use + and "" etc. If you were on the internet 15 years ago you might remeber how to properly use all that stuff. There used to be a cheat sheet, but I didn't see it in a quick review.

Try using the modern view if you aren't already.

It allows searching by user, and I've never had problems finding things I know are on here.

The Modern search is different? Crazy stuff.
