Farmall serial # search?

Hey-I was wondering if there is any place where you can trace the serial # on a Farmall tractor to find build date, ship location, extra equip etc much like the two cylinder club for John Deere does.

I have a 300 Farmall 300 RC with either 194XX or 94XX. I can't tell if it starts with a one or not due to the serial # tag being bent. My engine case dates are 7/27/55 engine and I think the transmission housing is sometime in 9/55. In the back of the book about the Farmall number series there is a chart that talks about engine serial #s and chassis serial #s. Which one of these are found on the serial tag?

Thanks
Joel

There are no known records of distribution or sales that are complete enough to use (AFIK) The Wisconsin Historical Society Archives has documents, but fragmentary at best. IH it seems was not concerned with that level of detail. jim

Chassis serial # is what you find on the tag and is the identifer in serial # references.
The Wisconsin Historical Society Archives may have month-by-month production records for the number series tractors. I have tracked my Super C down within 30 days of production.

The number on the aluminum serial tag is the chassis serial number. If there are any suffixes to the serial number, they would tell you a few particulars such as fuel type, T/A Delete, or high altitude pistons, but that is about it. Like Janicholson said, there is not much more than that available at this point.

194xx or 94xx, either way, you have a 1955 Farmall 300.
The Serial Number List

Serial number must have the # one in front. 9400 was built in march. 18933 to 20034 was built in october 55. Engine serial # should be between 31502 and 34442.
