New Project F-12

Purchased my new old project. A 1935 Farmall F-12 that the owner bought in 1935. Been wanting tractor for 10 years and man past away and family made sure that i got it. If I promised to not to sell it. Known this man for over 50 years.

Fritz, point out the "lot" of 14 parts. The steering wheel isn't either 12 or 14, the post is but my second owner 12 has the long post cause the 1st owner qas 6'5" tall and needed extra leg room. What else? The tractor is at least 72 years old: had to be a bunch of repairs made maybe even an overhaul or 2 or 3, and maybe modernized. The man has a serial number and year!! you have an opinion.

Well, you can'see it but I'm guessing there's a flex joint just ahead of the steering box, long brake levers, the steering post...I wasn't challenging the guy. Nobody thus far has stated the S/N... so until that happens, my statement stands. It's got a lot of F-14 parts on it.

Yeah and the guy I bought my parts H from had a serial number and was 8 years off.

Correct me if I'm wrong but shouldn't a 14 brake lever have a dogleg in it? I've seen lots of brake levers lengthened and lots of steering wheels raised on F12s. If a man tells me he has a 12 I don't argue with him. Not without seeing the tractor in person anyway.

It looks like the seat pedstal has been updated,My 37 F12 has the long brake leavers,I had a 36 that I had,had short ones.I beleive someone replaced the steering system and the seat becaues of their size,Does your motor #s and serial tag match.

SN. FS 44382 Found invoice and tractor was ordered with a higher steering column post because of needed leg room. It is stated on invoice.

I wasn't trying to pick on Fritz, just saying that an old tractor has a bunch of farmer "improvements" that made them easier for the operator to use or for a specific task. All my JD 2 cylinders have the corn pick clutch rods so we could use them as kids, and 4020 style fenders for extra lights and a place for the girl friends but, gives the correct police something to complain about.

I just looked at my two F-14's and both have a straight long brake lever on the left and the right lever has a factory dogleg in it. And looking at the parts book that is correct. And as everybody says a lot of F-14 parts are interchangeable with an F-12. Just my two cents worth.
