torch check valve

just picked up a hobart torch kit from tractor supply to replace set my dad had since early 60s
the set came with a flash back arrester check valve but do i put it between tank and regulator or regulator and hoses?
thanks dan

All the ones I have EVER used thread into the regulators, then the hoses attach to the check valves.I am not even sure you could even install them in between the tank and the regulator ????

I have seen them installed at the torch head inlets, but I would put them at the regulators before the hoses.

With ONLY the checks at the regulators alone, you DO run a slight chance of exploding the hoses on a backfire at the torch head.

If you try threading it into the valve on the acetylene tank you'll probably ruin it. Acetylene valve threads are reverse pitch like a propane grill tank.

HI Guy's put the check valve at the torch end of the hose. Or you could end up like me. With 80% of my back burned 3 Spots were 3 deg. burnes. Had to wear a special vets for about 2 Yrars NOT FUN. The check valves were at the reg. Missed 30days of work. It took some time befor i would use the torch and when poped back when sone one eles was useing it i would about pump out of boots. THINK ABOUT IT EVERY TIME I USE A TORCH!!!! BE CAREFULL

Thank You
