The info you sent is great i sure do thank you for the help from what i posted does it sound like Ive i got it wired right i dont type very well so it may have been hard to read on the oil pressure switch i have a gage so is the the switch or togle switch treated like a idiot light would be if i use a togle i turn it on before i start the tractor then turn it off when i shut the tractor down with kill switch You have excuse me i can get people really confused Thanks a l Janicholson
 
So far so good I think. If the gauge reads backwards (shows charge when the tractor is off, and the lights are the only thing on.) the wires are on the wrong terminals.
The oil pressure switch is placed where the gauge lins attaches to the block. the line is taken off, a 1/8" pipe nipple is screwed in with a T fitting to allow both the gauge and the oil pressure switch to be used (it is a "on with pressure" switch with two terminals. One to the L terminal, one to the load side of the Amp gauge.
If the switch is used, it should be a momentary contact push button with two terminals. it is wired the same way. After starting the tractor, the push button is pushed for just one second. It will then charge until shut off.
The oil pressure switch is automatic, and needs no operator action when in place, charging starts with the tractor, and ends when shut off.
If your using a two pole single throw switch for the mag kill switch it is wired to the ground on one terminal, and one to the mag terminal on the mag.
A toggle switch can be used for the excite switch, but must be seperate from the mag switch. It would also require the operator to remember to shut off the mag, and the alternator.
A double throw double pole toggle could be used (six terminals) with center and on connected to the alt L terminal, and the other center and off connected to the mag/ground. That would allow one switch to do both tasks, but is more complex. Jim
