400 diesel block

Can you use the crank and rods from a Super MTA diesel in a 400 diesel block ? The smta block is cracked and we can get a good 400 block with the same part number. I was told 400 rods have a longer stroke than the smta. Can we use the smta head on the 400 block ? The smta head was repaired and is good to use. I also need the long throttle rod for the SMTA diesel if anyone has one laying around. The ones from a MD are shorter. You can e-mail me.

Same rods and the cranks will interchange. If the 400 block casting # is the same as the MTA and have R3 at the end like the SMTAD block everythings the same. If the D264 block has R4 on the end the crank rear main may seal retainers maybe different or maybe not. Just use the retainers for the crank used. SMDTA retainers could be updated so you could have the later retainers. All D264 R5 blocks came with the late rear seal. D264 and D281 blocks that came in tractors all have the same cast #. Just the suffix changed.
