Steel Wheels for H's M's

Guys, I saved from the scrappers 3 pairs of H steel wheels, 2 pairs for M's, 1 pair of cut offs for M, and a pair of F&H wheels for a H. If interested, call me: 719 440-1105

Gene,If there for a H or M they will not fit a F14 properly.A lot of people will tell you different and a H wheel will tighten up but its not a good fit.The axle sizes are different.F 14 wheels are available,Cowman was adverstizing a pair

(quoted from post at 07:11:53 02/16/12) Wonder if either of those would fit and F-14?

Gene

I think the light duty clamp style for the H is the same as used on the F-14. Aren't the axle diameters the same?

Rusty,I dont beleive so,its been a while but I put a lot of thought into this at one time,The F12&14 are the same axel,However I would check #s and make sure they are H&M wheels, theres more 12 wheels than any thing else

If I remember right there is 1/8 in difference between an H and the 12 or 14. Close enough for a parade tractor but you might have trouble keeping the wheel tight for hard work. Yes, I have an F12 on full steel (front and back) that I sold to a man in AZ. But his plans are changed and the tractor is for sale. I'd like to get him his $600 back.

I think the deal is that you can put the lighter formed steel center F-12 and F-14 steel wheels on an H and get away with it, but you gotta tighten them down on the axles really carefully to make that larger hub squeezes down on the smaller H axle okay. Buddy of mine has his H with those style wheels on it. I had a set of the regular steel wheels with the heavy cast centers for an H that we had used years ago on our H's on the farm where I grew up. We used them in the wintertime skidding logs in the woods mainly and they still were in really nice shape. When I "bailed out" of farming in 1984 I sold the steel wheels to an amishman who was gonna broach the hubs out to 2 3/4 inches and put them on his M. He was so happy to get them he literally "ripped" the 200 bucks out of his wallet I charged him for them. His hands were actually trembling a little. He said he'd worn his original steel wheels on his M to where there was literally nothing left of the rims and just couldn't find another set with the cast centers that could be fitted for his M for years. I guess that could happen in 30-40 years of hard everyday use. Nowdays you see all sorts of "Rube Godlberg" steel wheels fitted on amish owned tractors.
