Seals in steering housing on Farmall 100

On my Farmall 100 it looks as if there is room to install two steering wheel shaft seals and two steering shaft seals on the bottom. Would this work or do I need to just use single seals? Also if I need to use a single seal do they need to be flush with the housing or do they need to seat in the bottom of the recess in the housing? Thanks for the help, Royce

THe newer style seals might be thin enough to put in two in the same space that formerly held one. I would do it that way. Pack chassis grease between the two seals to assure the outer one is lubricated. This also has the benefit of placing the lips of the seals in different locations on the shaft instead of the groove made by the old seal. Bottoming is fine, if the second seal sticks out a bit so be it. Jim
