H Light Problem

I am installing 2 new 6V teardrop lights on my H. I can get one bulb to light as it should, but not the other. I have power to the base of the bulb that won"t light and the bulb is good (I tested it in the working light). Thinking I may have a bad ground, I tried to jumper from the outer surface of the metal sheath of the bulb socket on the back of the reflector to the light mounting bolt but still could not get the bulb to light.

Any suggestons to resolve this problem?

You've either got some new paint, or some old rust between the mounting bolt and the clamp, or between the clamp and the headlight bar. Paint and rust both make very good insulators.

I put 12v off road lights on my H this winter and ran a wire from the lamp all the way to the battery ground terminal on the advice of some folks on here. It worked out very well, since the light bar was quite rusty.

Yours was good advice. I cleaned up the light bar and clamp, reinstalled the light, and it all worked.

Thanks for the help.
