Farmall H rear rims

I don't have a parts book yet, is the cast center the same part for the 36" split rims as well as the 38" deep V rims, I currently have the 36" split rims with miss matched tires and have a chance to get 38" deep Vs.
Thanks for any info.

I imagine the speeds will be a little faster, however the 38 inch speeds are what is in the current manuals and they are fine. Perhaps someone has a 1939 manual that they can look up the 36 inch speeds to compare with 38's. My understanding is that the cast wheels are the same, but I have never seen a 39-early 40 H.

The cast inner wheels are the same for 36" and 38". My 39 M has the deep dish 38" wheels and incidently don't have the little block on them to keep them from slipping .On replacement wheels they did not have this block. Never a problem with them slipping on cast Iron wheels though. The M was made at the end of Oct. 1939. Buck

Those split rims can be bad news when you start messing with them. Good decision to go with 38" drop centers for new tires. Go with 11.2x38, the speed difference will be minimal.

BTW, the rims are the same for H and M, except for width.

If the tires matched and the tractor was just going to be a trailer queen I'd leave them as a curiosity. You don't see the original split rims much anymore.
