Just curious to know how rare a 766 gas is? Seen one on a auction and sold farely reasonable in my opinion. It was the first one I have ever seen. Would be pretty cool to have, looks like a real fancy 706!!!!

I have a diesel tricycle. It seems that most of them I have seen at auctions have been gassers. Altho not many of them.

All the 766s that I've seen are diesel.Did'nt even know that a gas was made till I started hanging out around here...

Not very rare, I have a 766 gas. The first year of production they only made the 766 in gas, no diesels.

There USED to be some 766 gassers around these parts, but all the known ones have been changed over to diesel using DT360 engines out of old school buses.

They're kinda cool because they're the last "big" gasoline tractor IH made.

They kinda suck because they've got those fussy C291 gas engines in them.

Have not seen a 766D in some time but a used dealer near me has a gasser with a year a round cab on his lot. Pretty nice looking tractor too.

I do not think they are very common in stock form. I think they had the same engine as a 560 with the 806 rear end. Great for reliability, not so much on power to weight. I would assume by the time this tractor arrived, gassers were not all that popular.
