Is it possible to weld or maybe braze a new pin to the back of #series emblem. On my 600 one pin is missing. I am wondering if geting them hot would ruin it? How do you guys fix them? Thanks WOpp

welding or brazing out of the question. i think they are made of some sort of aluminum mixture. maybe try crazy glue . i dont think they can even be soldered. i believe its just too small of a pin to even try anything like a tig. soon as you touch it it will go poof.

Yea, theses are not good with any kind of tempurature.

My "pot metal"emblem that they over heated in a powdercoat oven is all bubbled up now.It now sitss on my desk all "nasty" like! lol

JB Weld will not hold it. Believe me, I've tried.

You can't butt glue metal with anything. Metal must be welded.

Unfortunately this is some kind of pot metal and any application of heat turns it to ashes and slag.

You've got two choices:

1. Drill through the emblem and use a stainless screw or bolt to hold it.
2. Buy a new emblem.

We've actually done the drill and screw thing several times, and it looks pretty good. You can't tell from a distance.

try 3m double sided molding tape from either napa or your local body shop supply. least expensive way is to stop by a body shop and have them cut you a few small pieces.

There's a guy near Indianapolis that I think repairs these. I know he does the 40/60 series and later ones. I think he posts occasionally here. I know he lists some hard to find ones in the classifieds or photo ads here.

His name is Jeff. Phone number is 317-896-1629.

600 and 650 emblems are made of stainless steel just like 100, 130, 200, 230, 300, 330, 350, 400 450"s were. The original pins were "resistance welded" on. That process will "blue" the spot on the front side that will need to be buffed out. Most all aftermarket stainless emblems from Steiner and other vendors that are sourced from the Asian rim have pins attached with industrial super glue. DO NOT DRILL A HOLE IN IT. You will ruin a high dollar item. JB Weld the pin on and also add vinyl moulding tape. That emblem will never come off with this combination. Jeff in INDY
