460 engine swap

I bought this tractor awhile back as a parts tractor for my 460D restoration project.
The tractor is fairly complete except it has no engine. It was a factory LP setup and someone pulled the engine out and was going to install a diesel befor they lost interest.
Instead of parting it out as a donor tractor, I have found a C263 gas engine out of a IH615 combine and was wondering how difficult that installation might be. Any thoughts? Also the 460 does not show the upgraded rearend symbol on the serial tag as my diesel does. Would the C263 be to much power for the rear end. It does not have a t/a. It would not work hard except at the local tractor pull or maybe a hayride.

The C263 will be fine as long as you are not doing a lot of heavy pulling. If the tractor is late enough it would of had the updates from the factory and there will be no additional stamp on the serial tag.

Without the original engine to get parts from you are going to be short a few things to put it in a tractor. You will need a font cover and backing plate from a 460/560. You will need a different rear plate to mount to the clutch housing. The exhaust manifold and carburetor are different. The oil pan is different though you probably use the combine pan.

It is a 58 model with a 4 digit serial number, I sure it is a tractor that needed and did not get the update in the rear end.

Tne fast hitch cyloinder has been unhooked from the hydralics. Cylinder is still in place but draft arms are locked and can't move at all

I've also read that not all of them recieved the stamp, even though it might have recieved the up-grade.
