Farmall 100 Transmission

My 100 has a bearing out and a gear with teeth missing on the lower shaft of the transmission. Is it possible to access these gears and bearings for repair without breaking the tractor and removing the transmission?

I concur with Curt.
Everthing that is bolted to the transmission case has to be removed: final drives w/ differential shafts, PTO, transmission cover and torque tube.
Remove differential while being cautious about the shims and their position.
Only then can the lower shaft be removed; again, watch the shims. Do not know whether you can exchange the damaged gear without removing the upper shaft, but it would be a good idea to renew the seal and bearings of that shaft too anyway...
On the plus side: this job can be done with simple tools and is straightforward.
Be sure to have a manual.
