Blue IH 140

Has anyone seen a blue IH 140? It has a round front axle, hand throttle. Approx. 1971. It has a J or a U following the serial number. I can tell that it was not repainted. This is the first non yellow & white 140 that I have seen.
Also, did the A, Super A, and the 140's have the same 1st gear ratio? (not talking about a hi-lo boxes)

At one time, IH would paint a tractor any color you wanted it, for a fee.

Unlike you, I have NEVER seen a "yellow & white" 140. They're always RED.

John Blue built sprayers and some of those sprayers where built around Farmall tractors if I remenber right. John Blue's color was blue. Maybe somebody has more information on the John Blue Co. Armand

My parts CD first gear info is as follows:

Super A (and also 100 and 130) sliding first gear has 16 teeth and meshes with a 45 tooth gear.

140 has a 14 tooth 1st gear meshing with a 47 tooth gear.

Therefore, I assume the ratio would be a little slower for the 140 by around 20 percent.

I have seen many yellow and white IH 140. There around more than a person may think. What does the "U" or maybe a "J" stand for after the serial number?

"J" designates a Rockford clutch.
