460 pto?

i am looking at a international 460 diesel guy says pto does not work well he says he has adjusted with no luck i have a independent pto off a international 340 crawler that has never been used it was removed when new will this bolt right up or parts interchangable or are they entirely differant?

There are three different PTO assemblies used on those tractors. The could have a transmission driven PTO, a planetary IPTO, or a clutch type IPTO. As long as they look the same they will probably interchange but I don't have access to a T340 parts books to make sure.

And there's 2 versions of the clutch type, one with the large plug on top, and the earlier one without the plug.

The two types of PTO's will have a different rpm because of a drive gear ratio in the front drive houseing.The band one is the slower geared one over the one with clutch disks.I put a clutch disced one in one time I thought the grinder was going to gernad.
