Splitting a M revisited

To All Who Replied--Thank you, you have graciously answered all my questions, so tomorrow will proceed with the split. The tractor has a wide front end and my splitting stand also has a wide stance so rolling the front portion should be no problem. Bert

Just a tip, when you go to rejoin the halves, used dome long bolts without heads, threaded into rear half to line up more easily.

Isn't this also the time when you want to thread the three little bolts into the clutch PP so it goes back together easy? That was the only thing the I&T Manual was good for!

Wedge the front axle to add stability. find the pinch points on each side and use hardwood the prevent movement. Jim

When I did mine, there were no holes to thread bolts into on the old pressure plate or the new one.

It wasn't an issue. The pressure plate bolts that hold it to the flywheel are plenty long to release the pressure before they come out.
