Hey,

I was reading on Red Power that we are shooting for the mile again.Man,I am excited about this one.I cannot wait for October!

There are going to have to be quite a few more tractors show up.Who else is all going? We need some help with this one! This is the biggest thing I am looking foreward to this year !!!

Also,I am a "Rookie" when it comes to plow day.I am working on my setup. This spring I will do a little more tuning on the #16

What was the one in 2008 like? Were their many issues with it.That was alot of tractors and plows to organize I bet???Any advice is always apreciated.I am having fun already about it. :)

I went in 08 with my W-30 and 3-14 #8 plow. i wont be going this year since thats usually baout the time i have our plowday at our farm. plus, central iowa out to there is a pretty good haul just to turn some dirt

my brother and I went in 08, I was a couple tractors behind Ryan's W-30 on my F-20. We will probably do it again, although it took about 3 hours to get everyone in the furrow last time. It's a lot more fun to go to a smaller event and actually spend all that time plowing instead of waiting in line, but It would be really cool to actually get enough together to make it happen this time.

Can you explain to a North Carolina boy what plowing the mile is. I am strangely excited by something I do not even understand... must be the picture of the freshly turned ground.

They have a mile long field down by Noblesville ,IN just north of Indy, and have tried to get a mile of IH tractors lined up nose to tail all at once . Everything from Cub Cadets upt to 4 wheel drive tractors all in the furrow at the same time.

What you are looking at(from what someone wrote on Red Power in the "coffee shop"forum) is 89.7 acres 740 ft wide and 4410ft long in one pass !!!

They/we are wanting 5280 ft. (fell a little short!)

All this info I am just reapeating from what I heard.(Feel free to correct me,I am NEW to this sport!)

H@LL yea it seems exciting.it is already written in on my day planner! I am going!

Greetings guys. IF you haven"t been following the post that I have been making the last few days over at RPF. Yes we are inviting all International Harvester Collector Club members to join us Oct 13. We will have a driver meeting at 8:45 The head to the furrow to see how many tractors and plows we have in the furrow at one time. We will not be bothering with photos from the air this year. That in it"s self caused a great delay in 2008. The sooner we get all tractors in the furrow and get all the pictures taken the sooner we can get the faster three bottom and larger separated form the slower 1,2, and 3 bottom plows and everyone can enjoy working ground. We hope to break our own record of 532 bottoms in the furrow at one time but the most important this is tat everyone has a good time. If anyone has any questions ask away. I will do my best to answer any questions you may have.

Thanks for jumping in "Ole Three bottom".(I DO NOT want to "misrepresent" this IHC #7 event.)

I cant wait tho do it! I might be hitting you up for some plow advise if I get stuck?

Good times :)
