Some of you may have followed my post a few days ago when I ask some questions about a 300 or 350 in trying to figure out which I was looking at. I found out it was a "56 350. I was off work today so I loaded up some tools, gas, battery, etc and had it runing on all 4 in about an hour. Runs fair considering old wires, and terrible looking points, etc. All gears seem to work along with pto and lift. Couldn't drive it as I had a battery sitting on the ground and running it with jumper cables. I am sure I will have more questions as I bought it for $400.

I believe you might have participated in Grand Theft Tractor!!! Nice buy. If all are happy you got a great deal. Jim

Sounds like you got the deal of a lifetime, I hope it'll work out well for you. I'd be interested to see a picture at some point if you can post them.

I"ll try to get a picture when I get it home. It is rough looking and missing one side of the hood. All tires are very close to junk but already looking for used ones which may be hard to find. If no used ones are found and it seems okay, I am not that far from Tucker tire in TN. This will just be a project as I have other tractors to use and don't do much more than large garden and a little mowing. Just wanted another old Farnall and hated to see this one go to the scrapper.

Why in Sam Hill can't I get that lucky???!!! Seriously, though great buy and I'll second what Jim said!! Kippster

Reward that "low cost" investment by putting the REST of the money it SHOULD have cost into it's upkeep and preservation!!! ;)

Good deal

You didn't buy , you stole it !! ha- ha good for you.
Certainly "Got it right" as my Dad used to say.

One place I know of for tires : Google TireTown

Glad you decided to buy it !! Hate to see one go to scrap.

The 350's make a handy addition to any operation, and really look nice fixed up.
Shop around for a salvage yard after you make up your "need" list, keep us posted.

CONGRATS !

Nieghbor had the tractor and we do some trading. He probably would not have sold it to anyone else for that price. I can afford to invest in new tires if I have to at that price and not be hurt if everything else turns out okay. Smoked some for a while but seemed to clear up some the more it ran. Will get it home and change fluids and go from there.
