Is there a designation on serial number tags that indicates whether or not the tractor was shipped from the factory without a TA? I know this was a factory option but I see far too many people on the photo ads claiming factory TA delete when in fact what they have done is to remove the TA lever in an attempt to hide a bad TA.

460/560 tractors with a TA would have the letter S stamped as a suffix to the serial number. The S means the tractor is equipped with TA and IPTO.

Example...my brother's 560....Serial Number 64304 S-Y-CC.

S = TA and IPTO....Y = 12 GPM hyd pump.....CC = 3rd Speed Heavy Tillage Gear.

He has my 560 with factory TA delete (we are overhauling his so he is using mine) so I cannot give you the S/N but it should not have an S anywhere at the end of the serial number.

Don't know about the designation for any other models.

A few weeks ago I asked what the S stood for on my 350's serial tag and Janicholson replied the same as you. So, at least this model had the same code as the 460/560.

The only letter I can find is P which means independent PTO without TA. However I believe there are also letters for transmission driven PTO without TA and no PTO at all and no TA. I passed on a 350 with TA delete and PTO delete in 2010, but I did not actually see the tractor.
