I bought a payloader with a farmall M motor in it. Can you tell me were I can get infomation on it. I can't find the model # on it

If its a genuine Payloader then it was a "Hough" that was a division of IH Construction (CE), I am a little vague in memory of when & how this happened before 1960, but as IH sold off pieces of their business this went to Dresser/Komatsu and the rest of Division CE. If you are familiar with any Komatsu dealers around your area you might inquire about what M engine would be common with Hough at that time frame. IH called the M engine a C248.

I had a "HY" Payloader a few years ago. I believe it was a larger one and there was also maybe a smaller "HT"?? and maybe others? It came from the factory with either a 4-cyl gas or 4-cyl diesel eng. The serial # plate on mine was on the right side of the "dash", right in front of the operator. This one had been swapped to a Ford 6-cyl. I have a copied manual somewhere, I will look for it.
