Hydraulic Filter Add-On

Can you add on a 10 micron filter in power steering return line, or will it blow? The screen filter in the hyd. tank won't keep anything like dirt out, it seems to me. When draining my system, there was a lot of dirty looking oil.

Was looking at one in Northern Tool, for about $35.

Yes you can, but if it restricts to much most have a bypass so you may have oil not passing through the filter. This ones in the return, may be overkill but bigger than the one you posted about.

Would you be willing to post a picture of your entire valve and actuating rods assembly? I am getting ready to install a valve and have been looking for good ideas.

Thanks,
Dan

Here's a couple ideas. It helps if you know where you want your hydraulic power. The two lower spools (cable operated) run a front rockshaft and outrigger. The lever runs a winch. Prefer to be off the tractor when using that.

Still adding things as I get to it. Some things I built or had completly torn down I painted, other things not. Just modified and repaired a junk 3 point hitch and installed. Made one up once before that used 2 3x10 cylinders. Giving one 4X10 cylinder a try on this one. Next project on this tractor is a PTO shaft cover include a foot step with it.

Thanks for the ideas. I never thought about using cables. Do you have levers on the other end of the cables?

Thanks,
Dan
