McCormick CX 95

I hope I am posting this in the right place.

One of these is coming up at an auction. It is 4-wheel drive with a loader. Tires are probrably 60%, showing something like 1,700 hours. Everything seems to work as it should. I never been around these tractors before. Are they dependable? or should I pass on it? Looking to use it to feed bales in the winter, and run a discmower and round baler in the summer.

Any info is appriciated.

Welcome

I personally haven't bought anything less than about 40 years old. So can't help you. After our record drought and heat this last summer I did get the itch for a new tractor with cab & AC. Went to the IH dealer and found stupid high prices. They also are using Iveco diesel engines. I know nothing about them and couldn't find anybody local who did. Even my sales rep, to his credit, wasn't too enthusiastic. Dallas, my parts counter lady, has been invaluable about chasing down parts for my 40's&50's Farmalls. Didn't know much as they haven't sold many yet.

Today'stractor.com might be a better source for you.

I have a 2010 Farmall 95. Same tractor.
Good: Miserly on gas, Cab is super, warm and easy in and out. Rear window a big plus.
Tranny seal went south early and filled the clutch compartment. New one installed under warantee.
I'd definitely see if you can buy any exwarranty. Replacement parts are very high, and that 90 dollar an hour shop rate adds up fast.

A Farmall 95 is NOT even close to the same tractor as a CX95

Like saying a Case IH 7210 and John Deere 7210 are the same.

The CX "5" series were the old Case IH CX design with a 24x24 with power shuttle and 3 speed power shift.

The Farmall 95 is the former JX tractor, Fiat based 12x12 manual shuttle
