SMD Live Hydraulic Pump

If it is the same as a 400D, I don't believe it is available. I think the part no. is 363780R91 for the 400D.

I just happen to have what an IH dealer in Wisconcin told me probably is NOS. He had two--the one in a box sold for $500, and I paid $250. The mounting surfaces are totally un-disturbed, so it just might be new. The dealer wasn't 100% sure, but thought it was new, so the low price. I put new seals in my current pump, and once my restoration is complete, if the old pump doesn't leak, I will sell the "new" pump. I should be done is 2-3 months, and will post on here what I do. I have never installed the new pump, but I did oil it up good, spun it by hand, and it was very tight, whatever that means.

Have a pump off of a WD 6 needs seals, was working great, it blew a seal and I had a back up so it was replaced. Anyone interested let me know. Geoff

The pump may care which way it turns. I did some checking on this 7-8 weeks ago. I don't know how much difference there is between the MD and SMD, but what I understand is on the MD there is an idler gear that turns the pump in an opposite direction than the gas. Which turns the Mag in a reversed direction from the gas, but that the Mag can be changed to fire correcttly in either direction. If it is a distibutor, if IRC, the part #s on the distributor are the same for the gas and deisel, so I haven't understood that yet.
I had some good info on the RPM site under Engines and Jim Winehouse (hope spelling is right)who posts here knows more about them than I do.Just saying, check it out.

MD used two different bolt patterns where pump mounts and there both different from a gas engine. Complete M&W pump for a gas won't match the bolt pattern on a diesel and a diesel won't match the gas bolt pattern.
