Follow up M not charging

Ellis, I spent some time looking up regulators on the napaonline.com website. Echlin # ECH VR898 is a 12 volt universal ground regulator. It is shown to be available at the (I assume Detroit, MI warehouse, that is the one that my local store, Blissfield, Mi, uses.)
Also, ECH VR851 is for 6 Volt positive ground. it too, shows as available. The Echlin line parts are usually the more Expensive, Made in US regulators. Hope this Helps! -Andy

I am sorry about how this post looks, I hope the links work. My local NAPA guys are very helpful and somewhat familair with the farm equipment. As long as you have a good idea of what you want, at least. You Should have seen the look on the owner's face when I asked for spark plugs for my 450 Diesel! I had to look those up in their catalog and tell them what to order that time. Probably 50% of their business comes from the farmers, they know who they need to keep happy :^)

You have a disinterested counter person -- NAPA can order almost any part like that. CaseIH can get them also for more money.

You need a better NAPA person, they are available in the Eschlin book. Talk to the store owner, (most are franchised) and let him know his counter people aren't very helpful.

ditto what the others said... both 6v and 12v A circuit regs are available from napa.. I was looking 2 weeks ago whan i needed one for my H

yer napa guy needs a new job.. one he's good at perhaps?

We,re just a victim of a time warp. You hire a person that you hope has at least a high school education and pay them minimum wage. They probably drive a Honda with a big muffler. Of all the tractors ever made they might recognize two John Deere and Ford. Now you want him to look up a part for a tractor that is four times his age and a part that is not used on that Honda. Only solution is to hire retired farmers.

BS what is the Delco Remy # on your generator as they do list two gegs for the gens used on those tractors early gens had adjustable brushes and take a different reg.Your tractor is 60pluss yrs old and you have no way knowing what someone has put on there for a gen.NAPA isnt the only store selling parts and the prices sure vary for the same product from 35 -90 depending where you buy T.H.E.Company in MT Pleasant IOWA can fix you up but you do need the Delco Remy #1101355,423 takes a vr1429 and price is49.66 gen#1101501,531 takes13911 29.95 The guy who his factory had a great article in Red Power covering those charging systems.
