A water temp guage

Myu winter project A has a waterpump but came without a thermostat. I installed 160 degree thermostat and would like to install a temperature guage. Where is a good place to tap in? Shouldn't I have a pressurized cap?

Tap it where the water is the hottest, as close to the top of the head as possible. You do not need a pressurized system.

You cant put a thermostat in an A. You must have a SA. There should be a plug on the water pump where the sender goes. If you remove the hood you mite find a plug in the head close to the front on top and you can get a better reading there also some did have a place in the top inlet for one but after 70 pluss yres who would know what all mite have been changed on yours.
