Hey guys,

I am off on another "obsessive "rant . I have been "googleing" like a mad man looking for any info on the 1,000,000 farmall M. I am in particularly wanting a good color photo of it with the white "1,000,000" going down the hood, but I am not having any luck finding it?(I have got a GREAT black and white one off of the Wisconsin historical society's sight.)

Also,I see conflicting info on the web about when it was built. Some saying 1951,some say 1947.I would like to have DETAILED info to help satisfy my "inner Farmall geekiness".

Help me out veterans??? (Thanks,as always ;)

Um, there were only 270,140 M"s produced. This does not include Super M"s and MTA"s but it would still not total anywhere near 1,000,000 units. That is an unbelievable number of tractors. The 1,000,000 tractor produced by International Harvester was a 1066 which was painted white and had special decals.

I thought the 1 millionth tractor IH produced was a 10-20, and the 3 millionth was a 300U, saw pics of those. Don't remember others
But yeah, no pic of 1 millionth M because IT hasn't been built yet.

Oops! My bad. The 1066 was the 5,ooo,oooth IH produced. They still made nowhere near 1,000,000 M's produced.

It was the one millionth Farmall tractor. Just happened to be a 1951 M if I remember the year correct. Think there was a article in Red Power Mag. about the tractor if you could find what back issue it was.

Yea,I am aware of the number of Ms built. What I am saying is the 1 millonth FARMALL BUILT was an M amd it was letterd up with BIG "1,000,000"on the hood and I am trying to find a color photo of it and any info.

There is alot of confusion being posted here. IH actually made 2 "one Millionth" Farmall tractors.

The first one (see link below) was the 1 Millionth FARMALL series (A-B-C-H-M) that was made. This tractor counted ALL of the Farmall models made both in Rock Island and Chicago. This does not have any number or marking on the hood and the serial number and whereabouts of this tractor are unknown to me. This was made in 1947-48.

The second one was made in 1951?. It too was an M, but this tractor marked the 1 Millionth tractor made at the FARMALL WORKS factory alone. The Farmalls made in Chicago and Louisville along with all of them made overseas WERE NOT included in this count.

The second one had the 1,000,000 number decal in white affixed to the side of the hood. There is a story about this in Harvester World/Tractor Farming. It was sold new by the IH dealer in Manilus, IL. Today this dealership building is the home of KORY wagon mfg.
