super h frame hole plugs

Does anybody no of a plug that will plug the holes were the belly pump fittings come through the frame. If so were do you get them. I have tryed a frost plug but can not find one that fits tight enough to stay in

Ih actually made round sheet metal covers for that. You might find them in a bone yard. Try Burgh equipment in Harmony Pa.

I bought a 1939 Farmall H years ago. The tractor came from the factory without hydraulics and there were large corks in the holes. I still have one of the corks in my H after I restored it. A couple of them did crumble apart. I was able to find new corks at a hardware store. The pictures that I'm attaching do not show the corks up close, but they are there.

Check the decorative plumbing aisle at your local home improvement box stores. They should have cover plates for various sizes of holes, like when you replace a 3-hole faucet with a 1-hole model, and have two gaping holes in the sink to fill.

Why did you have to split the H after restoring it? That would be hard on the paint.

Didn't IH use sheet metal covers with a pair of springy metal ears on the backside on the later tractors? At least that is what a few of the pulling club guys are using. They are old and red so I assumed they were factory.

Salvage tractors that came equiped with metal ones can be found on ones that came without hydraulics. Also stage 2 SM clutch housings and SW6 with frame rails.
Also the most successful place to find is in the front bolsters for H&M to 350&450. Two are up inside the bottom of the bolsters where the posts go up. If you have a salvage yard near that junks the bolsters try to get the plugs first. Sometimes you can get them out from the bottom but not always. If there already in a dumpster I take a big slege hammer and bust a hole in the posts. Then take a long rod to push out.

The factory ones show up occasionally on eBay. That's where I got mine. You might try emailing a seller who is parting out a front end and ask about the plugs in it too.

How do you go about removing those plugs? On my stage 2 Super M I want to install the X-mass tree hydraulic lever and my plug is still in where the lever will go.
