hydraulics-- h and m

Thanks for the help about the hydraulics on that H. Probably the best thing would be to fix that belly pump. The belly pump comes with the tractor but is out-- I'm assuming there is a problem with it but maybe not. Another question-- will a loader on an M generally fit on an H?

The design is the same but the H frame is narrower than the M frame, and the whole tractor is smaller and less robust. An H can get broken in half at the casting where the Lift-All goes in when someone gets too enthusiastic using a loader.

The loader on my H has a little spacer fitted between the front casting and the loader frame in front, it makes a handy place to keep the hand crank. The loader would fit on an H or an M as I understand it. The rear axle bracket spacing is the same for both tractors. When I got my H it didn't have a belly pump but the guy I traded for it from sold me a belly pump out of a parts H to go with it and the pump worked fine when I put it in.

Have you checked the oil level in the belly pump? Simple, but easy-to-overlook. It holds about 6 qts. If it is down on oil, it will seem not to work.

Many owners remove the drive shaft between the pump and the trans countershaft to prevent wear when it is not used. The same is also true if the pump is leaking like a rusted out bucket. Either way ir is informative to remove the tin cover and see if it is being driven. Jim

This the factory spacer for mounting IH loader on a H. Think the loader model is 30 and 33.

Yep friend of mine did that to an M trying to lift a binder out of the trees. Not the best way to make an articulating tractor.
