Farmall H Carburetor Question

I am about to order a kit to rebuild the Carb on my 1947 Farmall H, carb #50981DB.
I saw a photo of an "H" Carb and like the drain valve on the side of the Carb. Where can you buy a kit with a drain valve like this? I have looked everywhere with no luck.

I don't know if you can get it in a kit, but I have one like that that came on the carb my H had when I bought it and I moved it over to my "new" carb last spring because it was handy. I think that is a 1/8" pipe thread, so the part would not be specific to the carburetor and you might be able to find what you want at an auto parts store or a hardware.

Your picture is way to big for my slow dial up but you can buy the common radiator type drain valve at any good parts store and install it in a carb I have more then one tractor that has that

As suggested below, but be sure it is for fuel, some water valves have rubber and or plastic that will melt. Jim

In our area [Eastern Iowa] Farm & Fleet has these drain valves in the tire/ pneumatics section. Milton air products & they have 1/8 & 1/4 inch ones. I believe they are all brass. $2 to $3 is all.

I've got several of the original brass drain cocks. Some are good, some not so good. I remove them and replace with a pipe plug because I do not trust those draincocks to NOT leak when I do a rebuild.

Farmall H carb kits are all the same, and they all come from the same place except for the kit you can get at Case-IH for about $100.

I will also mention that ALL of the kits (except Case-IH) will have some non-fit issues and also very vague instructions. I know what the non-fit issues are, and I fix them before I send a kit out.

I have to disagree on this one. All kits are not the same. Not all kits have fitting issues. IH kits are probably the best but certainly not 'the' best. NAPA kits are of equal quality but are not complete. The kits from Steiner are right up there with IH in my opinion and cost a lot less. The kits from TSC are on the low end of the sale.
