She is real I was ale to read the serial number and I have been told that the "accepted" range is 47010-54411 and this tractors number is 51742.And you can also see some old white paint behind the hyd lift and under the tank.

It is the tractor. After I read all the comments here bout it possibly being fake I still decided to take a look. after all it was only an hour drive. so When I got to looking at the serial number plate I could read the number on the tag. He told me he tried to read it with a magnifying glass and still could not make it out. And from reading some other post I was able to find an approximate list of serial numbers from when they started and quit making the demonstrator. this one fit in the rang so the other concern of mine was the engine it is the wrong engine but it runs great and drives nice so I figured I could always swap out the engine for a new one anytime. I paid 1,900 for her but I feel the shape she is in is an ok deal. a standard Farmall C in my area with the same condition give or take a little will still bring 1,500-1,700.

Well that is a lot safer deal than it originally sounded. They way it sounded in your first post was that the tag was just plain gone.

You are right I would love to add them to the collection but I will have to save a bit more. They seem to bring more money and I have not ever seen any for sale.except for a cub on Crag's list but it was in rough shape and he still wanted 4000.00

ya I think it is the real deal. I hope it is anyway. funny though you think the guy would have had someone that could see try to read it? And I would have thought he would have seen some of the old white paint. He told me he only had the tractor since a little before Christmas, and he decided he could not afford to fix her up so that's why he was selling it.

I like that sign you have. Are they hard to find? I would love to find one or get new ones printed. Do you have the sign that fits in the wheel?
