Steering Much Tighter Now, plus Question - 400D

Found a NOS worm gear (long shaft - not for power steering) and sector gear, replaced all bearings in the bolster, put on the tricycle front end, replaced the bushing up behind the steering wheel, and what a difference it made. I can turn the steering about 5 degrees or less and get wheel movement. Most of that free play can be seen in the old steering shaft u-joint.

I was going to have the long shaft cut to length and install the power steering motor, but the steering feel is so easy, not sure I want to. Could I do this with the current priority valve for power steering, or would I need to change the valve? Here it is with the long shaft.

The existing Priority valve is a good bet if it is
operational. If you put a loader, or weights on the front your decision might be modified toward a PS unit! Jim
