Well the broken/stuck wedge came loose!Made a "special tool",about 4 smacks with a 16lb. hammer and it came loose!I think I will keep this tool,Think I can patent it(LOL)?

nothing to loose, every dollar to gain...lol what's the weather like over the mountain,,been 50's and don't miss snow...might get a new job driving to evanston wyo, just remembered what was i thinking,,,in the winter in wyo...oh-sh!%

That looks better than that joke of a tool IH had for those. May swipe that one for myself. We have a 1086 that the wedges that haven't been apart since we set them on 30's for our new 800 cyclo we bought in '85.
 
When IH came with the heavy tool(first tool was just two pins with heads on them, next tool was too light) I never had a wheel I could not get loose, unless, someone had ruined the head of the bolt using an air wrench. If you follow the recommendations in the operators manual, they come loose. You have to use the hammer in the correct sequence and correct place on the axle. Breaking a bolt is from over torqueing them. If a wheel does not fit the axle properly it will not stay tight no matter how much you torque or retorque it. I always use hammer treatment when torquing them down also so you don't have to retorque later.
