Farmall Identification

I have a farmall with an ID plate that says Model BN and a serial number of 97141 and a number on the frame that says 8638 DC. The strange thing is that the front wheels are spread out wide unlike theBN models I have seen online. I have pictures. Can anyone help

A pic would really help, the only sure way...From your meager description,it sounds like you may have a 'mongrel'.A 'B' with an' A' (wide) front grafted to it.Steve

Wide front was not an option from the factory or aftermarket, but it is very easy to add a wide front by swapping parts from an A. Also someone with a welder and some scrap metal could build one or adapt one from another piece of equipment.

Could also maybe be a Farmall A where someone swapped the seat bracket that the serial tag is riveted to and put a seat bracket/assembly from a BN on ?

Mark, I would like to see more pictures of the front axle I have some ideas on it. What size tire is on the front? oldiron29

Do any of you guy feel that front axle is thinner than an A or 100? I see mounting brackets That would be from an older wide front.
More picture may tell. oldiron29

It may not even be an IH front axle. Since the original question and most of the replies revolved around the front axle, it would have been helpful to have a half way decent shot of the front axle in a posted picture.
