560 gas 12v positive or negative?

Hi Guys,
I need help ,I am restoring a 560 gas,was not running when I bought it and electrical was a mess . I rebuilt genny 12v,reg,coil, etc 12v.
I am installing protronic ignition .
Do I hook up as positive or negative ground.
I ordered a complete set of wires from well known harness Co. and they sent me ground strap to positive and starter cable to negative. Does not seem right .
Need your imput!! Thanks in advance, Tony

Negative ground.

There is a wiring diagram link for both the diesel and gas motors on this site and at the RPM site.

Sorry, but I don't have it but you should be able to find it in the archives at either site. I believe that Bermuda Ken (Ken Updike) is the author. It is downloadable as I have a copy on my 'puter. The URL was stripped when I copied it.

Tony - The 560 should be wired negative ground.
