gas leaking at drain cock farmall md

The drain cock is not seating correctly. take it out and look closely at the seat and "needle" There is probably sone refinishing needed, or get a different one with the same threads (rated for gasoline.) There is (On some MDs) a float shutoff lever that should prevent fuel from entering the carb when running, or on the Diesel position when stopped. Always shut off the fuel and diesel stopps under the tanks when not operating the tractor. Jim

It is also good practice to shut off gas stop when running on diesel. The needles aren't always a great seal or the float shutoff might be iffy.

the alum. half is probally gettig weak on the threads and is starting to spider crack around it best to replace lower half or try to seal it
