i have a super m tractor that the starter would not engage on so my uncle put the tractor in reverse while no one was on and pulled it about 4 inches.now the tractor starts but will not move.the gearshift will go in 1,3,and 5 but not r or 4 and when u you try to move the tractor dies and will not.is there any easy way to fix this or will the top have to come off.thanks tom

You may be able to get to the gears by removing the belt pulley drive. That way you may be able to identify the problem.

Most likely the tractor is in 2 gears at once. It may be as easy as sliding gears or you may have to raise the platform to correct location of the "Shifting Tongs".

remove the gearshift and line up the shifting rails with a cat bar or big screw driver,no big deal. this commonly happens as the gearshift end gets worn and needs rebuilding.

I don't know what I cat bar is, but I support everything else he said.

its a pry bar bar about 24" in length , one end is pointed and the other end is flat with a curve.
ever hear of a ladies slipper?
its a pry bar with one end pointed and the other end like a "ladies slipper"
crowbar is a 5'long pry bar.
just a bar is where u drink beer.
