h cranking parts

Hi, I think I am missing some parts on my 1950 h for cranking the engine, In front of the tractor I have the part sticking out for the crank to go on, but when I put the crank on and push in all the way nothing protrudes to the front of the crankshaft. Any ideas of what can be happening?
Thanks

There is a collar that slides out of the front casting and has slots in it to engage the pin in the ends of the crankshaft. The shaft that you put the crank on goes into the middle of this collar piece and has a pin on the end of it that fits inside the collar and turns it while allowing the connection flex. Either the collar is rusted in place, in which case it just needs heat and tapping and oil to break loose, or maybe the pin that connects the shaft to the collar has fallen out, in which case you'll have to buy a pin or cut a bit of a bolt to go in there, as I did. Either way it is pretty self evident if you look at it from below what the problem is. Hand cranking is a good way to start an H, I have been starting mine with the crank for about 9 months until today when I got my new battery and wiring put on.

I m having a similar issue. The crank shaft does not move forward towards the engine front when I push it with crank. It makes a noise like something stops it. I have not looked at it from below yet. Is this the way to take it out? Also there is a metal plate covering the area.
