M carburetor

I got a 52 farmall M from a friend I saw it run and he drove it around through all the gears. It was having carb issues so he took off the carb to rebuild long story short he had to move in a hurry so bought the tractor for 500 and the carb came in a bucket the float has a hole and I'm missing all the nuts and bolts and gaskets so basically I have the 2 half's can I get all the pieces I need to fix it in a rebuild kit or do I half to buy a new carb which seems to be 200-250$ so if I can Id rather rebuild it.

The parts you need are all readily available, but you will not find them all in one kit. Depending on the extent to which the carburetor was dis-assembled, are you 100% certain ALL the parts are in that bucket?

(quoted from post at 20:42:38 01/17/12) I've seen carbs on E-bay go for as low as $50. Even if you had to rebuild it, you would have all of the parts.

I've bought several of those carburetors from ebay sellers. Nearly every single one of them required MUCH more than just a kit. By the time I get all the rust and crud off of them and OUT of them, I have considerable time and expenses involved, and more than once I have encountered a carburetor that is NOT rebuildable, and then that $50 plus $12 shipping is just money down the drain.
