Farmall A needs a lift

I have a '47 A that I am restoring. It had a pnuematic lift-all on it, however all that is left is the handle to control the lift. I would like to run at least a plow with it, but how do I lift it? Should I try to find the parts for the pnuematic lift or is there a lift that would be cheaper/easier to find. Also, I replaced the engine with the engine from a F240 so I have a hole in the block for the hydraulic pump. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks
 
All depends on whether you want it original. You sure could get a hy pump and then lift the plow with hy system. You would need a cycl with little longe stroke than the common 8in but you could change the lift on the plow to raise and lower. First you need to find the mounted plow for that tractor then go from there.I have the parts and repair the exhaust systems but a hy cycle sure can do the same only need a single way system for the lift as the wt of the plow will lower easy.

From what I've learned, most implements on an A came with their own lift systems. Usually a hand lift.

The problem these days is most of that stuff has been lost and/or scrapped. If you can find a COMPLETE original plow setup for a Farmall A, you've got a real treasure on your hands.

There's a lot more stuff around for the Super A because the setup was much simpler due to the addition of the "universal" hydraulic lift system. Not as many parts to lose.

If you're willing to go to the expense and trouble, you might want to consider fabricating a system that emulates the Super A Touch Control setup, with a rockshaft style lift mechanism under the gas tank.
