I need to replace the front transmission seal on my international A. My service manual is not very clear to me on how to access the seal . Must I split the tractor at the clutch and move the engine forward then split the housing at the transmission? Can I then remove the transmission drive flange to access the seal or do I have to disect the transmission further?
when I pull the engine forward will the clutch shaft just slide out of the throwout bearing and release sleeve?
This is a 46 model and I have replaced the final drive and axle seals, they were still the original leather type and very leaky. I suspect the transmission seal is the same type.
Thanks for any advice!
