This is the way we did it when I was a kid in the 50's and early 60's. Several nice old Farmalls in the mix. One of my jobs on "Picking Day" was dragging up stacks with a Ford and lift forks. Our picker was pulled by a Super A not as pretty as these. Digging, shaking, and stacking was hard work. We would turn the picker so that the wind blew toward the belt side. I later tied sacks on a bagging combine and there was no way to avoid the dust on at least every next field pass because of the wind direction. I still have South Georgia dirt in my lungs 45 years later for bagging peanuts.
