Greb puller question

Ok, Greb puller showed up today, and it is a bit different than the ones shown in the Overhaul manual. Although the top looks the same, the arms are different. If any of you have one, can you post or email a pic? Mine has the standard puller arms on it, and it is big enough, it will pull a flywheel. However, the one pictured in the Overhaul manual uses bolts and has "flats" on the end of the arms.

Really curious, because the PO of this one, says it came from his Dad's IH dealership, and I have absolutely no reason to doubt him.

I'll try to post pictures a bit later tonight.

This puppy weights in at 40 lbs and is over 15" long on the jaws. I haven't placed it up against a fly wheel yet, but my guess is they will fit it just fine.

It is the right puller. However, it doesn't have the right legs to pull the flywheel. Flywheel pulling legs have a right angle shape that bolt to the flywheel. There are at least 4 types of pulling legs similar to what you have. I don't know specifically what your pulling legs are used for. I believe they are too long, and come in too far to work to push out the crank.

that's what I figured based upon the pictures I have in a 1926 IHC shop manual. But, for $45 I can't complain. Now maybe I can find the other "correct" legs for it. I have the flywheel off the F-30, but is in storage right now. I'll check these out just for grins, and no special expectation they will work, but who knows.

Worst case, I can probably fabricate a set of legs for it.

that things not even gonna come close to pulling a flywheel off. you HAVE to have the legs with feet on them which allows you to bolt it to the face of the flywheel. those legs also wont fit between the flywheel and the flywheel housing. legs like thos are more for axle bearings and things of that nature

Old-F20 I didn't even think about that! well, if one were inclined to take the crank out without taking the flywheel off, it might work. But who is manly enough to do that! Not me, for sure.

Bottom line, I have the wrong legs/jaws for it. However, it might come in handy on some other things until I either fabricate or locate the correct ones.
