i have a early 340 with gear pump on engine the remotes are slow and fasthitch works sometimes and sometimes dont the filter is new oil is new the psi at remotes is 750 psi at full throttle is this low if not what else could be my promblem

You should have double that, but it will depend on how you are checking it. 340s had 3 kinds of pumps. Is it a camshaft driven or front mounted crankshaft driven pump? There were both kinds of motor driven pumps and also a transmission driven version. If you have TSC stores near you, go get an I&T IH-201 manual. It has a good system trouble shooting section.... not everything is good in those manuals, but the hydraulics section is pretty good and detailed.

thanks and i will try and make it to tsc and it has the camshaft driven pump on it
