I'm gonna need to tear into the brakes on this 354
in the near future and was hoping for some insight
as to the difficulties and any hints u may have from
prior experience.I usually would just jump right in
there and go to it but would rather get some advice
first. The problem is the the pedals are stiff. The
left brake u can stand on and nothing. The right one
will eventfully stop the tractor if u stand on it.

Is it the same as a 454?

NO! 454's were built at Doncaster and are totally different from 354s (which were built at Bradford).

354s... traditional power steering, direct linkage brakes, live PTO w/2stage clutch... non-syncro 8F 2R trans.

Brakes on 454's are wet disk hydraulic .. steering is hydrastatic.. independent PTO, syncromesh 8F-4R trans.

I was afraid they were different although look similar. Even by the trouble discription it didn't seem like something my brakes would do what with the dual mastercylinders etc.
