Farmall Brake Lock Assembly On E-Bay

I saw an"aftermarket Farmall H, SH, M, SM hand brake lock assembly" sell on e-bay tonight for $53. It was basicly a combination of rods & linkages that bolted to the steering post and connected to the brake lock "flipper thingy" (Ohio technical term) :? down at the pedal. Looked like a handy gadget for an H or M. Our 450 had a similar device and sure was easier than bending down to flip that little lock up. I'm pretty sure the one on the 450 was stock.

My question is does anyone know who made these for the H & M? Was this an M&W part?? Are they a rare item to find? And are they worth $53?

If i'm not mistaken, Behlen made one. I don't know about M&W. I was at an auction a couple of months ago that had an M with one that the owner had made himself. Very simple design, and looked good as well.

2+2 guy,
I believe OEM makes them after market. Don't recall the price.I have them on my smta,400,560.
need one for the H.
As for what they are worth, I think they are worth the 53.00 if in good shape.I say that because, I have had severe ciatica pain and streching with one foot on clutch one on brake as you bend down to set the lock as you try to hold tractor in position while loading does not help the back's vertabrea's .The H is not as bad a stretch. When I screwed up my back I would of paid thousands and did,to get rid of pain. Just my 2 cents, Tony

There was a small welding shop in a town named KEOTA and they were always making gadgets for the H@M theirs was a rod deal that locked the brakes. They also had a little lever that you pulled for the PTO and another for the belt pulley all three were handy.

Get creative and build one.
