ebay auction

So there is a reprint manual for a m&w clutch on ebay right
now bidding is upto $41 the funny thing is that manual is on
ytmag under vintage ads, you can also call m&w and they will
sent you a copy of any info they have on there products.

The puter plus sites like this and ebay make it too easy to ask questions and shop without doing any research. Kinda funny but I saw a book on Wheel Horse history sell on ebay for about $150 when it was available on Amazon for 29.95. That seller sold those books for a long time. Most averaged about 60 plus shipping.

I have also seen OEM Tractor Parts catalogs sold on eBay by third parties. Of course, OEM will mail them out free if requested.

I know someone who found a niche selling (reselling) a GM part readily available from any GM parts department. He ran onto it by accident and noticed when he was looking for one that the local parts guy would sell him this part for about $25 each individually boxed, yet they were not available on ebay, and aftermarket parts that were similar were priced up toward $100 each. He started buying in 20 -25 piece lots, listing on ebay for about $50 each plus shipping, and was selling an average of two per day. Not bad considering he was 16 at the time. All he had to do was print shipping labels, and take them to the post office as they were already boxed ready to ship. Soon someone he sold one to posted feedback advising others, and soon others caught on to his scheme, and went into competition and started selling them for about $30 each which pretty well took all the profit out of bothering with them. Funny how people will assume ebay prices are better than a GM dealer (in that case) on new parts. Not always the case.

Put two items side by side, one free, one with a price tag - MANY people are going to assume there's something wrong with the free one, and buy the other one.

EBAY is LOADED with those kind of sales !!!!

I even see USED parts get auctioned off for the same as NEW parts can be readily bought locally ????? WTF ????

As an example of what you're saying, I have seen Deere planter plates for pumpkins sell on eBay for over $80. Obviously the bidders don't realize that they could just call their local dealership and order one for about $35. This is probably how the sellers got theirs in the first place.

OEM Tractor Parts has a nice interactive online catalogue and you can "flip" through the pages. Just go to their site and click on "Request a catalogue - online interactive cataloge" on the left side of web page. It will download in a new window. You can probably even save a copy of it to your documents so you can look at it without being online. Saved a pdf of Fordson House catalogue and order form to my documents.

A fool and his money are soon parted. I for one suffer no fools. If they want to hand me a stack of bills for something that's worthless, I will not argue.

Ford sells the 7.3 Powerstroke oil filter cheaper than the NAPA Gold oil filter.
